Plants

I have learnt lots of different in our Plants science unit but the four things that I found most interesting was...

1. The different ways of how plants are pollinated.

2. Some of the different ways the animals get the pollen.

3. Different types of plants life cycles.

4. What photosynthesis is.

For the plant growing competition my cress started off really well and by the 3rd week it had grown 12 cm high but then in the weekend it was really sunny so all of the plants in our group died except for Abia's which never started growing. I don't think that there is much point taking a photo f my plant as it is dead.

Term 4 goals

For my term 4 goals I have nearly completed all of them. The goals I need go achieve are my cultural and I have done half of my Catholic Character goal.I will complete these goals by working hard in these last few weeks of the school year. My goal is to get into the speech competition which is next week. 

Speech Competition

For the speech competition I'm really excited and  I think that I'm ready. I have nearly learnt my speech off by heart and I just need to finish making my cue cards. For my presentation I think that I should slow down with my talking and I need to learn my speech off by heart so that I can then use more eye contact. My goal is to get into the whole school Speech Competition.

Book Week Reflection

Last week was book week and there were lots of different activities that the school did. Fifi Colston come to our school and told us about her job and one of her books that she is illustrating at the moment. 
On Friday it was Book Character Day so everyone dressed up as a character from a book and then we had a parade. Marguerite and I both dressed up as Minnie Mouse. At the end of the day there was a book quiz. The winners were Evans. 
On Wednesday and Thursday at lunchtime Penny organised a book swap so kids brought in books and then they could choose a book that someone else had brought in and take it. 
The year sevens and eights had to choose an activity to do,we could do a book themed piece of art, recreate a scene from a book and there were many other activities. I did a piece of art and its theme was The Twelve Dancing Princesses. 
Overall book week was really fun, my favourite activity was the Book Character parade.

Book Week

I like lots of different books but some of my favourites are The Selection, The Elite, Riptide, Katy, My Sister Jodie and Ingo. Some of my favourite authors are Jacqueline Wilson, Cat Patrick, Enid Blyton and Kiera Cass. When I was younger my favourite book was Princess Rosebud. The best book I have read this year is probably The Selection and The Elite (second one in the series) is also really good. It's about a girl caled America who goes to live in the castle with 34 other girls and they are in a competition called The Selection. They are competing to become the princess of Illea.
